Yet, there is always a helping verb in verb of being
I am playing football.
'am' is the helping verb, and 'play' is the verb
give you some more examples
(1) Jason is doing homework.
You cannot say, Jason doing homework
and
(2) She was talking to her boyfriend.
You cannot say, She talking to her boyfriend.
It is wrong.
