以下為Green Day的小小歷史記載

• Green Day一般被歸類於Punk Rock或Pop Punk
• Green Day的前身是「Sweet Children」
• 一九八二年，年僅十歲的Billie Joe Armstrong和Mike Dirnt組合二重唱
• 一九八七年加入第一位鼓手John Kriftmeyer。
• 「Sweet Children」於一九九零年改名為「Green Day」，而同年John Kriftmeyer為了進修大學而退團，於是兩人從The Lookouts挖角來鼓手Tre Cool，即現時的鼓手。
• 一九九一年，Green Day終於推出第一張專輯《1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours》。

九七年有一場著名的瘋狂演唱會，地點在紐約的「Tower Records」，根據報導他們砸毀了價值五萬美金的樂器。Billie Joe發表聲明:
「你可以引發暴動，因為你不是在Tower Records，你是在Green Day的演唱會中。」
他們的瘋狂行徑包括在人群中發呆，在窗戶上畫些低級字眼，將啤酒倒入CD裡，還企圖丟擲架上貴重的音樂器材。Tower Records店經理告訴MTV:
「幾乎所有的損壞都是樂團造成的。沒有人受傷，歌迷也沒有喧鬧。在演出後應該是簽名會，但Tower Records為了清理場地取消了簽名會。雖然並不會對樂團提出控訴，但他們也將不再受邀。」

在二月中，Billie Joe Armstrong再一次以Pinhead Gunpower名義表演，是次一共有五個表演場地，其中更包括Green Day的起點；在二月四日的表演中，Billie Joe唱出《At Your Funeral》、《West Side Highway》等曲，Billie Joe更叫台下的觀眾關掉電話的攝錄功能，他更說：「YouTude並不能擁有所有事物，這個世界還有一樣東西叫作回憶」("YouTude can't own everything. There's also something called memories.")

Pinhead Gunpowder於一九九一年成立，Billie Joe同樣負責結他和唱歌，其餘有鼓手兼作詞人Aaron Cometbus、低音手Bill Schneider、Jason White和Mike Kirsch則扮演與Billie Joe同樣的角色，後來Billie Joe因為Green Day而離開，Jason White亦有參與Green Day的演出

是次演出一共有三首新歌，分別是《The Anniversary Song》、《West Side Highway》和《On The Ave》。

Boys Like Girls is a four-piece American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts.
