可能是因為鍵盤中「N」字與「M」字為鄰，網民打字手快時便會打錯，因而變成「Bam」。
網友「青侵磨膠@HKU」在2006年9月發表《一人一post bam 9 admin!!!!!!》的帖子，「Bam」一詞令各高登網民廣泛採用。
