if u buy iron + coal and make steel bars, u make money gei...
Iron ore - 200gp
2x coal - 260gp x2

cost  - 720gp

steel bar - 940gp
=====================
profit - about 200gp

So you make money if you smelt bars (steel, mithril, addy or runite)
