1. There will be no reaction since both barium metal and sodium metal are in solid state. As a result, there will be no chemical equation involved.
2. Pure iron is black in colour while rust(hydrated iron(III)oxide) is brown in colour. We can distinguish rust(hydrated iron(III)oxide) from pure iron easily by looking at their surfaces.
