If you haven't heard already the legendary hacker MarshviperX (hacked the old nites account, found the first bloodrune dupe, was responsible for the 2002 starcraft surge and the warhammer highscore hack) has recently claimed that he is about to perform the biggest account hacking in MMORPG history on thousands of runescape accounts. He reckons he has found a vulnerability in the java login script and can gain access to anyones account he wants and that he has made a bot so that he can hack a shitload at once making the rs char drop all items in their bank to get into the guinness world record for online game hacking. He is planning to do all this at 12 on new years eve.
Anyway he has compiled a massive list of the names he is going to enter into his bot to be hacked and has released it probably to scare the shit out of everyone:

If your name is on the list you should be pooping your pants although everyone has been saying that all we have to do is have a bank pin then his bot can't do shit because he has only found a vulnerability in the login script, theres no way he has found a way to get everyones pin number too. If you go to the contact us section of rs forums you will probably see a load of posts about it although jagex has been deleting them to try and calm people.
UPDATE：
UPDATE1: It has been confirmed that MarshviperX's bots cannot penetrate a bank pin so as long as you have a bank pin and don't leave any items on your rs char over newyears you should be safe. Spread the word to all your friends if you want them to be safe too.

UPDATE4: Less than an hour ago MarshviperX wrote an open letter on his temporary real-time blog about the hacking. I missed it since it was deleted in under 5 mins but some people were able to screenshot it:
He say： It has come to my attention that a portion of the RuneScape Community believes that this whole escapade is a hoax and that their RuneScape accounts are completely safe. What do I have to say to these people? Nothing, we will find out who is right and who is wrong in less than 2 days time  . I have received a number of e-mails from Jagex, well...threats from Jagex in the last couple of days which have done nothing but make me laugh. I have also been informed that Jagex have contacted Guinness world Records(tm) in an attempt to have my accomplishment derailed. Despite their futile efforts I will be gaining control of a record number of RuneScape Accounts on NYE.
For laughs and to quell all the naysayers I have attached the proxy list that my bots will be using at the bottom of this post. Enjoy

http://pastebin.com/f531966ec thats the link he posted at the bottom and HOLY Sh*T that is a F**K LOAD of proxy's, i have never seen that many in my entire life. Like some of you guys i was doubting if this was real myself but with that many proxys he can really pull this shit off. Personally though i think MarshviperX's cockyness might lead to his downfall, he has already given us the names of the accounts he is planning to hack and the proxys he is planning to use, surely jagex can now ban all the proxy ip's or something?
MUCH MORE THAN JUST THESE ACCOUNTS WILL BE HACKED. THE SERVERS HOSTING EACH WORLD WILL GO DOWN AND THEIR COMPANIES. |
